EuroNCAP

The European New Car Assignment Programme (EuroNCAP) is the most important car crash testing institution in the EU.

EuroNCAP rates cars on multiple scales:

• A 5-star scale for adult occupant protection,
• A 5-star scale for child occupant protection,
• and a 4-star scale for passenger protection.

The rating system varies slightly over the years. For example, older five-star models could receive a lower rating on newer tests.
